Kearny Detectives Honored by Elizabeth Police Department for Excellent Police Service

Kearny, NJ – Members of the Kearny Police Department were recognized by the Elizabeth Police Department during the department’s annual Blue Mass and Awards Ceremony for their role in a major multi-agency investigation known as Operation Fare Game.

Detective Sergeant John Fabula and Detective Bryan San Martin received the Elizabeth Police Department’s Excellent Police Service Award for their investigative work and collaboration throughout the operation. The investigation resulted in the identification, arrest, and charging of eight individuals connected to an organized criminal enterprise.

According to the Elizabeth Police Department, the success of the case was the result of “exemplary interagency cooperation, timely intelligence sharing, and a shared commitment to public safety.” The coordinated efforts of investigators helped dismantle a significant criminal network and prevent further victimization.

The award citation further recognized the professionalism, investigative excellence, and dedication demonstrated throughout the operation, noting that the investigation reflected “the highest traditions of law enforcement service.”

Detective Sergeant Fabula and Detective San Martin were joined at the ceremony by Chief Scott Macfie and Deputy Chief Paul Bershefski alongside members of the Elizabeth Police Department and the Mayor of Elizabeth.
