The purpose of this policy is to maintain uniform guidelines for the lawful use and operation of the
agency-authorized body worn camera recording system (BWC).

An Early Warning System (“EW System”) is an important management tool designed to detect patterns and trends in police conduct before that conduct deteriorates into misconduct.
File A Complaint Or Commend An Officer
Persons wishing to file an internal affairs complaint against a police officer are welcome to do so with this contact form or via accessing the statewide IAPP Appendix A: Sample Civilian Complaint Information Sheet.
Completed Civilian Complaint Information Sheets can be emailed to IA Sergeant, Michael Gontarczuk, at mgontarczuk@kearnynjpd.org. Alternatively, complaints can be mailed, faxed, or hand-delivered to Kearny Police headquarters.
